A classic comfort food, Tater Tot Casserole is a hearty and easy-to-make dish featuring a savory ground beef and mushroom soup filling topped with crispy tater tots and melted cheddar cheese.

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 can (10.75 oz) condensed cream of mushroom soup
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 bag (32 oz) frozen tater tots
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large skillet, brown ground beef with chopped onion over medium heat. Drain off any excess grease.
  3. Stir in cream of mushroom soup, milk, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
  4. Spread the beef mixture evenly into a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  5. Arrange a single layer of frozen tater tots over the beef mixture.
  6. Bake for 30 minutes.
  7. Remove from oven, sprinkle cheddar cheese over the tater tots.
  8. Return to oven and bake for another 10-15 minutes, or until cheese is melted and bubbly and tater tots are golden brown and crispy.
  9. Let stand for a few minutes before serving.
