Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz lo mein noodles
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1/4 cup hot boiled water
  • 1 tbsp beef bouillon paste
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp olive or sesame oil (for frying)
  • 1 lb beef (thinly sliced)
  • 2 large carrots (diced)
  • 2 cups broccoli florets
  • 1 large onion (diced)
  • 4 cloves garlic (minced)

Instructions

  1. Prepare your lo mein noodles according to the package directions, then set aside.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together the hot water, beef bouillon paste, soy sauce, and brown sugar to create your sauce. Set aside.
  3. Heat a large skillet or wok with 1 tablespoon of olive or sesame oil over high heat. Add the thinly sliced beef and sear until golden brown. Remove the beef and reserve it.
  4. In the same skillet, add the remaining 1 tablespoon of oil and sauté the diced onions until they are golden and softened. Remove and set aside.
  5. Next, add the diced carrots to the skillet and cook until they begin to soften. Incorporate the broccoli florets and cook for approximately three minutes.
  6. Return the sautéed onions and the seared beef to the skillet with the vegetables.
  7. Press the minced garlic into the mixture.
  8. Pour the prepared sauce over all the ingredients and allow it to simmer gently for about two minutes.
  9. Finally, add the cooked lo mein noodles to the skillet. Toss everything together thoroughly to ensure the noodles, beef, and vegetables are well coated in the savory sauce.
  10. Serve hot and enjoy your homemade Beef Lo Mein.
