Ingredients
Scale
2 (6-8 oz) salmon fillets, skin on or off
2 tbsp olive oil
For the Seasoning:
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp onion powder
1 tsp paprika
½ tsp dried dill
¼ tsp black pepper
¼ tsp cayenne pepper (optional, for a kick)
For the Lemon Garlic Butter Sauce:
2 tbsp unsalted butter
1 clove garlic, minced
1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
Prepare the Salmon: Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels.
Mix the Seasoning: In a small bowl, combine garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, dried dill, black pepper, and cayenne pepper (if using). Sprinkle this seasoning mixture generously over both sides of the salmon fillets.
Cook the Salmon (Pan-Seared Method): Heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a non-stick or cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, carefully place the seasoned salmon fillets, skin-side down if applicable, in the pan. Sear for 4-5 minutes until the skin is crispy and golden brown. Flip the fillets and cook for another 3-5 minutes, or until the salmon reaches an internal temperature of 145°F and flakes easily with a fork.
Cook the Salmon (Grilled Method): Preheat your grill to medium-high heat. Brush the grill grates with a little oil to prevent sticking. Place the seasoned salmon fillets on the hot grill. Grill for 4-6 minutes per side, or until cooked through and nicely charred.
Make the Lemon Garlic Butter Sauce: While the salmon cooks, melt the unsalted butter in a small saucepan over low heat. Add the minced garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant (do not brown). Remove from heat and stir in the fresh lemon juice.
Serve: Transfer the cooked salmon to serving plates. Drizzle generously with the warm lemon garlic butter sauce. Garnish with fresh chopped parsley and serve immediately.
