A delicious and easy Crockpot Apple Crisp recipe that is perfect for a cozy dessert.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 68 medium apples (such as Granny Smith, Honeycrisp, or Fuji), peeled, cored, and sliced
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • For the Topping:
  • 1 cup rolled oats (old-fashioned)
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) cold unsalted butter, cut into small pieces

Instructions

  1. Lightly grease the inside of your slow cooker crock.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the sliced apples, granulated sugar, 1 teaspoon cinnamon, nutmeg, and lemon juice. Toss to coat evenly. Pour the apple mixture into the prepared slow cooker.
  3. In a separate bowl, prepare the topping: combine rolled oats, flour, brown sugar, 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon, and salt. Cut in the cold butter pieces using your fingers, a pastry blender, or two knives until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Sprinkle the oat topping evenly over the apples in the slow cooker.
  5. Cover and cook on LOW for 3-4 hours or on HIGH for 2-3 hours, or until the apples are tender and the topping is soft and cooked through. (The topping will not get crispy in the slow cooker).
  6. Serve warm, optionally with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a drizzle of caramel sauce.

Notes

  • The topping will not get crispy in the slow cooker, but it will be tender and delicious.
  • Serve warm, optionally with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a drizzle of caramel sauce.
