Ingredients
Scale
2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
8 oz cream cheese, softened
3/4 cup granulated sugar
3/4 cup packed light brown sugar
2 large eggs
1 tsp vanilla extract
2 cups (12 oz) semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
In a small bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
In a large bowl, cream together softened butter and softened cream cheese until smooth.
Beat in granulated sugar and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
Beat in eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla extract.
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing on low speed until just combined. Do not overmix.
Stir in the chocolate chips.
Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, about 2 inches apart.
Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden and the centers are still soft.
Let cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
For chewier cookies, slightly underbake them.
Ensure cream cheese and butter are at room temperature for easy creaming.
Do not overmix the dough after adding the dry ingredients, as this can lead to tough cookies.
