Ingredients
Scale
1.5 lbs ground beef (80/20 works well)
1/2 cup breadcrumbs (plain or panko)
1/2 cup finely chopped onion
1 large egg, lightly beaten
1/4 cup milk
2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp black pepper
For BBQ Glaze:
1/2 cup BBQ sauce
2 tbsp brown sugar
1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a loaf pan or line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, chopped onion, egg, milk, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix gently until just combined (do not overmix).
Form the meat mixture into a loaf shape and place it in the prepared loaf pan or on the baking sheet.
In a small bowl, whisk together the BBQ glaze ingredients: BBQ sauce, brown sugar, and apple cider vinegar.
Spread about half of the BBQ glaze over the top of the meatloaf.
Bake for 1 hour to 1 hour 15 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).
During the last 15 minutes of baking, spread the remaining BBQ glaze over the meatloaf.
Once cooked, remove the meatloaf from the oven and let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
Notes
Using 80/20 ground beef will result in a more moist meatloaf.
Do not overmix the meat mixture, as this can lead to a tough meatloaf.
Letting the meatloaf rest before slicing helps it hold its shape.
